Enhancing haemovigilance: Current and future directions – 17.09.2026
To mark the World Patient Safety Day, the International Haemovigilance Network (IHN) in collaboration with the haemovigilance working party at International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) hosted an interactive webinar exploring current challenges, emerging developments and future directions in haemovigilance. Bringing together an international panel of experts including a patient representative, the discussion highlighted the essential role of haemovigilance in improving transfusion safety, strengthening learning from adverse events, and supporting continuous quality improvement across healthcare systems. Panellists shared perspectives on current priorities, future opportunities, and the importance of collaboration in advancing patient safety worldwide.
