Join the Conversation: Interactive Webinar on Enhancing Haemovigilance – Current and Future Directions
To mark the World Patient Safety Day 2026, the International Haemovigilance Network (IHN) in collaboration with the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) haemovigilance working party and Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT) are pleased to promote a collaborative webinar exploring the current landscape and future development of haemovigilance systems.
Date: Thursday 17 September 2026
Time: 12:00–13:30 BST
Format: Online webinar
Cost: Free to attend (registration required)
This interactive event will bring together perspectives from researchers, the IHN, ISBT, SHOT and patients to discuss recommendations arising from NHSBT-funded research focused on enhancing future haemovigilance systems and improving blood and transfusion safety.
The webinar will present findings from research that synthesised expert views from transfusion medicine, patient safety and implementation science. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss recommendations and consider their relevance both locally and internationally.
Importantly, this is not just a webinar to listen to—it is an opportunity to share, contribute your views and help shape recommendations for future haemovigilance systems. The webinar is particularly relevant for all professionals involved in the transfusion chain and haemovigilance, and is the first of two events designed to support the development of future recommendations for haemovigilance systems.
