Registrations now open!

Registration for the 2026 International Haemovigilance Symposium is now live, and we are excited to welcome participants from around the world. Take advantage of our early bird discounted rates by registering soon and secure your place at this landmark event.

We warmly encourage attendees to join us for all three days of the symposium, from 18–20 March in Rome, to fully benefit from the scientific programme, expert discussions, and networking opportunities.

Through the registration link, you will also have the option to book hotel accommodation for the event. While the venue hotel rooms are available, attendees are free to choose alternative lodging in Rome during the conference.

Day 1 Pass – Italian programme Wed 18 March 2026- 150 Euros (this does not include access to sessions on days 2 and 3)

Full Congress Pass- Early Bird- Wed 18- Friday 20 March 2026- 350 Euros

Call for Abstracts

We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for the 2026 International Haemovigilance Symposium. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your work—whether it is an audit, a service improvement initiative, an educational activity, or research related to haemovigilance and transfusion safety.

Important dates to note:

Abstract submissions start: Tuesday 09 December 2025

Abstract submission closes: Friday 16 January 2026

Abstracts will be reviewed in late January 2026.

Authors will be notified of the outcome of their submissions by 02 February 2026.

Please submit your abstract in any of these categories:

  • Transfusion Education
  • Quality Assurance and audit
  • Incident investigation and human factors
  • Innovation and Quality Improvement Projects
  • Organisational aspects of haemovigilance systems
  • Haemovigilance implementation (national, regional, or local)
  • Implementing the new SoHO regulation
  • Transfusion medicine and haemovigilance
  • Artificial intelligence/Digital haemovigilance
  • Donor vigilance: Long term effects of donation
  • Biovigilance of non-blood derived medical products of human origin
  • Transfusion microbiology, Emerging infectious diseases and Pathogen inactivation
  • Haemoglobinopathies related issues

Please submit your abstract via the link provided and carefully review the submission guidelines. Abstracts that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be considered.
